We are fans of Freehand Chicago, a beautiful and unique hotel in River North — home to some of Chicago’s best art galleries and design studios, and is about a 30 minute ride to the wedding venue.

Transportation
Lyft or Uber: Just order a ride as you normally would — you will wait at the "Rideshare Loading Zone" at each airport. Depending on time of day and traffic, it should run between $25-$35 from both O'Hare and Midway airports.
Taxi: There are Taxi Stands at the lower-level curb front at each airport. Fares are based on traffic conditions, but an average fare from O’Hare or Midway to the Freehand is $35-45.
Public Transit: From O’Hare, take the Blue line train to Jackson. Transfer to the Red line towards Howard to Grand, and it's a short walk from there. The fare is $5. From Midway, take the Orange line towards Loop to Roosevelt, then transfer to the Red Line towards Howard. Take that to Grand, and it's a short walk from there. The fare will be $2.25 .
By Car: There is no private parking on site, but you can self-park at the Grand Plaza Garage - only a 2-minute walk from the Freehand. You can book a spot in advance when you call to book your room and the fee is $39 per night with in and out privileges. When you arrive, let the front desk know you parked at the Grand Plaza.
A note for Chicago residents — they offer private and shared rooms, but if you are a Chicago resident you can only get a private room.
We also recommend these two local establishments for a fun and memorable weekend!
